SPOTLIGHT MAGAZINE On People
Aware of the tremendous sensitivity of their mission, Walsh comments "That's where integrity comes in... Don't forget, I spent a long time in police work and I understand the importance of integrity. Privacy is the reason these papers are being shredded and I give all my customers a certificate attesting to the fact that everything they gave me has been destroyed."
NEW YORK POST
People are becoming more aware of the sensitive information they have. A person applies for a loan and gives the institution their life history. That, and a credit card number is all the "bad guys" need. Medical records can also be damaging in the wrong hands. If a patient has a communicable disease and the information gets out, they are open to blackmail. The 'bad guys' can make a fortune on this.
Please Note! There are organized gangs who make a living changing your identity. Before you know it, they have changed your credit cards, telephone numbers, mailing address or house alarm system because they obtained the right information from your trash. You may never recover financially because it is almost impossible to catch up with them.
GANNETT PUBLICATIONS Shred Letter Days
Our most unusual call came from a casket company in Brooklyn that wanted some material shredded. We responded that we only shred paper! "It's hard work" said Walsh. "One day I had to move 23,000 pounds of paper 4 times."
